UK ultra-rapid charging network InstaVolt has opened five new battery energy storage systems (BESS) at its charging hubs.
In a move that it said will “future-proof” its charging hubs against rising grid costs and connection delays, InstaVolt is launching a national programme to install BESS at at least 20 of its sites by the end of this year.
The five sites that have just opened each represent an investment of about £500,000 (US$680,000). In total eight of its charging hubs now have operational BESS installations.
